Videofluoroscopy - for investigation of swallowing problems
Rita Thakaria and Dr Sanjiv Chawda, consultant neuroradiologist, offer a specialised diagnostic test for patients with swallowing difficulties. The test is known as videofluoroscopy and is a type of X-ray, which films the swallow as it happens.
The videofluoroscopy procedure takes 10 to 15 minutes to perform and Dr Chawda will provide a report and recommendations to the patient's GP or consultant.
If a problem is identified, Rita Thakaria can provide information, advice and exercises to improve swallowing.
You will need a referral from your GP or consultant in order for us to carry out videofluoroscopy. To book an appointment or for more information please call: 01277 266 775
