Mr George was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals in 2008. He has a subspecialist elective practice dealing exclusively in conditions in and around the hip joint with his surgical workload being divided between hip preserving procedures such as hip arthroscopy and hip replacement surgery. Whilst Mr George deals with hip problems in patients of all ages from adolescents upwards, a significant proportion of his work is tertiary referral and in young adults. He is currently Orthopaedic Clinical Governance Lead at Guy’s & St Thomas’.
Mr George plays an active role in postgraduate education, being an educational and clinical supervisor for higher surgical trainees and is an examiner for Orthopaedic MSc students. As well as regularly teaching on hip arthroscopy, hip replacement and postgraduate examination courses, he frequently lectures to general practitioners, physiotherapists and postgraduate orthopaedic trainees.
He has published articles in peer reviewed journals and written book chapters on a variety of hip related topics and is a reviewer for the Bone & Joint Journal and The Journal of Hip Preservation Surgery.
