Spire Harpenden Hospital has diversified its paediatric services to cover surgical procedures. To support our enhanced paediatric services we have appointed a new Paediatric Nurse Team made up of Registered Sick Children's nurses (RSCN's) led by a specialist Paediatric nurse. The new team will cover key surgical sessions in ear nose and throat (ENT), orthopaedic and general surgical specialities.
Spire Harpenden Hospital undertakes complex surgical procedures for children

In addition to these changes to our clinical team we have recently contracted new specialist resident medical officers (RMO's) who all have significant experience in advanced paediatric and critical care. These RMO's have worked as hospital anaesthetists, covering critical care units and they provide 24 hour cover for Spire Harpenden Hospital.
These changes to our clinical teams, in coordination with our dedicated four bedded critical care unit, mean Spire Harpenden Hospital can confidently undertake complex surgical procedures on both adults and children and further strengthen our medical admissions services.
