Having graduated in Cairo in 1991, Mr Sherief finished his orthopaedic training after 8 years at Ain Shams University in Cairo where the main focus was on spinal surgery. He completed a doctorate thesis on spinal deformities in 2000. Mr Sherief has continued to develop further experience in all aspects in orthopaedics in the UK since 2002. He has completed two post CCT advanced training fellowships at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and at the Royal Derby Hospital for 30 months. During his years of experience he has developed wide expertise in the modern techniques in spinal surgery including microdiscectomy, non destabilising spinal decompression, spinal fusion using interbody cages and pedicle screws for spinal instability and for back pain if indicated. He is also competent in performing mini access surgery (balloon kyphoplasty) and spinal fixation for fractures.
Mr Sherief enjoys spending time with his family and shares many interests with his daughters. He has great interest in computers, building his own PCs and tailor them to his needs.
He is also a dedicated Arsenal fan despite suffering the disappointment for so many seasons.
