Following completion of my Microvascular reconstruction fellowship at the renowned Cancer institution, MD Anderson Hospital (Houston, Texas, USA) and extensive research at New York and Stanford Universities in the USA, I am keen to continue working and developing my interest in oncological reconstruction. My current practice involves breast reconstruction, skin cancer as well as general plastic surgical cases ranging from complex wounds to hand trauma.
I also had the opportunity to spend 3 months as a Cosmetic Fellow at Akademikliniken in Stockholm Sweden working on a wide range of cases ranging from body contouring and cosmetic breast surgery to facial and nasal aesthetic surgical and non-surgical procedures.
I am currently on the teaching faculty of the University College London MSc Plastic Surgery program and am responsible for organizing and delivering teaching to Plastic Surgery trainees in our region.
With respect to my research interests, I am also supervisor for a PhD student who is also a Fulbright fellow seconded to Stanford University and carrying out a project involving the application of gene therapy delivery techniques to microvascular free flaps which was the basis of my MD thesis. I have also supervised a number of MSc research students on their projects as well as publication of book chapters and peer reviewed journals for publication. I am also a reviewer for the Journal of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
