Mr Thurston has more than 30 years' experience in urology, and until recently was the clinical lead for urological cancer services at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust, before he retired from the Trust.
Mr Thurston has considerable experience in general urology, but has also been trained in urological ultrasound, laparoscopy and holmium laser prostatectomy. He is keen on rapid assessment of urological problems.
Mr Thurston treats patients with any urological problems including rapid assesment of passing blood in the water (haematuria), abnormal PSA results, acute stone conditions, urinary retention (difficulty passing water) and acute testicular problems.
With Mr Thurston's broad experience spanning 30 years, he is well aware that patients' symptoms can cause severe anxiety. Over the years he has found that a straightforward approach to symptoms helps put patients at ease. Mr Thurston takes the time to discuss the various options available for treatment, and together with the patient, decides on the best treatment pathway for them.
