Miss Marie Lyons has been working in the field of ENT for over 15 years and is still as enthusiastic about the specialty as the day she started. She enjoys the variety of patients she sees and making a real difference to their quality of life.
Miss Lyons trained in Cambridge (undergraduate and postgraduate) and after house officer jobs she went to London where she completed her training. She very much enjoyed her placement at Great Ormond Street Hospital so after she finished her training in the UK she underwent a fellowship in paediatric ENT in a specialist children’s hospital in Edmonton, Canada. It was wonderful experience not only in ENT but in how another healthcare system works.
Miss Lyons is the clinical director of ENT at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and has a wide and varied practice. She treats patients with recurrent tonsillitis, children and adults with glue ear, benign head and neck lumps, nasal obstruction, snoring, sinusitis problems, snoring and sleep disordered breathing, ear infections, perforated eardrums, prominent ear, and cosmetic nose deformities after trauma.
