I am a Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology and since 2002 I am Head of Neurophysiology in the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust spanning Lister Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, The New Queen Elizabeth II Hospital and Hertford County Hospital. I achieved a distinction in my M.B.B.S. from Topiwala National Medical College – University of Mumbai in 1989 and further qualified as M.D. in 1993 from the University of Mumbai with my thesis in “Brain stem auditory evoked potential in meningitis”. In 1993 I became a fully qualified Consultant in General Medicine and as a Consultant Physician in Gujarat, India treated underprivileged patients in Rural Indian Communities.

After moving to the United Kingdom, I completed my clinical training from the prestigious Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery – Liverpool in 1998 and finished my Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Clinical Neurophysiology in 2002 from St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Royal London Hospital NHS Trust. This included rotations at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery – Queen’s Square, London. As my experience as a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist grew, I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008.

Alongside working as the Head of Neurophysiology for the East & North HERTS NHS Trust since 2002, I also worked as Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist at the Royal free Hospital in Hampstead, London from 2002 – 2007. In addition to my experience in the National Health Service, I have gained extensive experience within the Private Healthcare sector.

In addition to my vast experience in Clinical Neurophysiology, I have achieved accolades within academia as an Honorary Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London since 2007. To further my research network I became an Honorary Research Associate at the University College Hospital from 2015 to 2018. My international work and efforts to build the Neuroscience Community led me to become an Honorary Speaker in the Nigerian Neuroscience Society Conference in 2021.
