Annie Beresford has over 20 years experience as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. She is a Chartered Scientist and offers evidence-based help with a range of emotional difficulties. She also trained as a Personal Construct Psychology Psychotherapist and specialises in adult mental health and wellbeing.
She is interested in the influence of nutrition, exercise and the quality of sleep on mental as well as physical wellbeing, favouring a holistic approach when designing therapy programmes to meet the needs and aspirations of her patients. She offers cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in line with NICE guidance, but is also interested in the ‘third wave’ therapies such as Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy, along with the emerging field of Positive Psychology and happiness research. This enables her to draw from a number of influences in order to adopt an integrative approach to her work when appropriate. She is also qualified in Clinical Hypnosis and employs this as an adjunct to therapy if her patients wish to draw on this approach.
