Your GP is responsible for your overall care and they will be able to provide us with your medical history and can help confirm the type of specialist you need to see.

If you are planning to make a claim through your medical insurance policy your insurer will usually ask you to provide a written GP referral. If you are paying for your own consultation or treatment you do not necessarily need a referral, although some of our consultants will require one prior to seeing you. To help us to advise you properly and to avoid any unnecessary delays to your treatment, please let us know whether you have a GP referral when you book your appointment.
If you have had any test or scans prior to attending Spire Manchester Clinic Hale or Spire Manchester Hospital, having these results available through your GP may save time and money, if they do not need to be repeated. We will write to your GP to provide information regarding the outcome of any tests and to outline the treatment your consultant has recommended. This ensures your GP has a complete record of your medical care. We will ask your permission before sending this information to your GP.
