Mr John Leach was raised in Sydney, Australia and moved to the UK to study at Cambridge University where he obtained a MA (Hons.) in neurophysiology. He continued his studies in clinical medicine at Oxford University and graduated in 1998. Mr Leach then specialised in neurosurgery at The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and carried out a fellowship at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, specialising in minimally invasive spine fusion and brain tumours.
Mr Leach is now based permanently in the UK and is the clinical lead for Neurosurgery in Manchester. Mr Leach specialises in spinal neurosurgery and minimally invasive spinal surgery at his NHS practice at Salford Royal Hospital. He has conducted clinical research into innovative spine fusion treatments, presented internationally on brain tumours and minimally invasive spinal surgery and is actively involved in teaching AT Manchester and Salford universtities.
