I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Lead Cancer Clinician at The Manchester Royal Infirmary. I see and treat all aspects of adult urology but have a specialist interest in urology cancer in particular minimally invasive surgery, early detection of prostate cancer with the use of MRI scanning; trans-perineal template and MRI fusion prostate biopsies.

I returned to Manchester in 2010 having successfully established a laparoscopic prostate and kidney service as a Consultant in both Derby and Sherwood Forest NHS Trusts. Having graduated from London University, I trained in Bath and the North West of England before completing a six month fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery at the internationally renowned centre in Bordeaux, France. Here I gained invaluable training in all forms of urological minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

My current NHS practice is at Manchester Royal Infirmary, where I am the clinical lead for cancer services. My private practice mirrors my NHS practice where I see all aspects of urology but specialise in prostate, kidney and penile scrotal work. I see and treat all other urological conditions but refer onto specialists in the urological field at the earliest opportunity if required. This is established in private practice by working with a team of urology specialists - Manchester Urology Group.

I am an enthusiastic teacher and a member of the educational faculty of The European Institute of TeleSurgery at The University Hospital, Strasbourg, where I regularly teach on their international courses. I am also involved in the training and mentoring of fellow UK consultants in minimally invasive surgery.
