Dr Michael Wilde is a consultant respiratory physician at Spire Gatwick Park private hospital in Horley, Surrey offering private appointments to patients in Surrey and Sussex in our clean and comfortable private hospital
Dr Wilde studied medicine at St. Bartholomew’s University Hospital, London, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree and MBBS degree, graduating in 1998. In the medical final exams he was awarded a merit for outstanding overall performance, merits in pharmacology and surgery, and a distinction in medicine.
His postgraduate specialist training was completed in hospitals in London, principally at St George’s University Hospital, where, as a research fellow, he completed a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) research degree in the area of pulmonary hypertension with a particular interest in thrombo-embolic disease. During his time at St George’s University Hospital, Dr Wilde also has experience in advanced techniques in bronchoscopy, both flexible and rigid. He has an ongoing interest in academic medicine and attends international respiratory conferences. He is involved in several on-going clinical studies.
Dr Wilde is a specialist within the field of Pulmonary Vascular disease and attends St George’s and the Royal Brompton Hospitals to perform clinics, cardiac catheterization and multi-disciplinary team meetings. In addition, he has brought this specialist service to the patients of Surrey and Sussex and is in the process of developing a shared car centre with St George’s and the Royal Brompton Hopsital.
He was appointed as a consultant Physician at Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in 2009. Dr Wilde is an experienced General Medical and Respiratory Physician and is skilled at investigating and treating a whole range of lung diseases including chronic cough, asthma, COPD, lung fibrosis, respiratory infections, lung cancer, pleural disease and thrombo-embolic disease.
