Hi doc, I am a male, 27 years of age and in a long-term relationship. Recently I have noticed red sore itchy feeling in my genital area, and it feels like a bump is coming through? I am really concerned, but too embarrassed to see a GP. Please can you advise? What could it be? It’s never happened before? Thanks, Anonymous.
Hi reader, skin conditions can involve the genital area as well as any other part of the body. People are often embarrassed to talk to family/friends with the resulting misconception that this is uncommon which is certainly not the case is.
There are different harmless conditions that can affect this area which can be easily treated. My advice would be to see your GP and if he is not sure what is going on he will refer you to a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment if needed.
