Spire Gatwick Park Hospital welcomed Mole Valley MP Sir Paul Beresford to visit the building site for the new state-of-the-art 3T MRI scanner. He was given a tour by Spire Gatwick Park Hospital Director, Heather Dob.
The 3T project is a £1.8 million investment in the hospitals imaging facilities. Installation of a new state-of-the-art 3T static MRI Scanner will be the first private static 3T MRI scanner to be installed in the Surrey and Sussex area. This means an increase in productivity delivered through faster scan times along with higher quality scans a double the strength of the standard scanners.
Sir Paul Beresford, a British Conservative Party politician for Mole Valley, has been MP since 1997 and sits on four Parliamentary committees. He was keen to see and find out more about the construction of the 3T project, he was also shown the mobile MRI unit which was positioned on the grounds of the hospital in late April. Spire Gatwick Park Hospital was honoured to have the local MP visit and will be looking forward to the launch of the scanner in July 2013.
The scanner offers various technological features which ensure consistent and efficient workflow. It will be particularly welcomed for neurological, body, cardiac and musculoskeletal applications.
