Mole Mapping in Surrey and Sussex

Mole mapping at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital

Mole mapping sessions are now available at Gatwick Park Hospital under the supervision of Dr Sandeep Cliff, consultant dermatologist.

Mole mapping is a technique to digitally map your skin with the results being stored on CD-ROM allowing you to keep an eye on moles on a regular basis. The mole mapping service includes a consultation with Dr Cliff who will assess your moles and decide which moles particularly need to be digitally assessed prior to the mapping being undertaken. This takes about 20 minutes. If there are any particularly suspicious moles there will be the opportunity to have these removed if you so wish.

Melanoma can affect both men and women. Essentially it is a form of skin cancer. The following may increase your risk of developing melanoma or other forms of skin cancer and people with these risk factors are suitable for mole mapping:

• Positive history of skin cancer
• Positive family history of skin cancer
• Skin which frequently burns in the sun and very rarely tans
• Large amount of sun exposure in earlier years
• Large number of moles over the body
• Very fair skin

The price of consultation and mole mapping is £200 and includes a CD-ROM to take home for self-monitoring of your moles.
