Ptosis Repair

Ptosis repair (also known as droopy eyelid) causes the eyelid to hang low and block vision. Ptosis repair is the renovation of the eyelid, to help stop it's 'drooping effect'. Surgeons will make a small incision into the eyelid to get to the muscle. They will then tighten the muscle that lifts the eye. Some patients have a blepharoplasty procedure whilst having the Ptosis repair.

Entropion surgery

Entropion is a medical condition in which the eyelids fold inward. People with this condition find their eyelashes are constantly rubbing against the cornea. It is an uncomftable condition that can easily be treated with daycase surgery. The surgeon will tighten the eyelid and its attachments to a normal position. This will usually be carried out by a local anaesthetic and you will be awake for the procedure. Entropion can be genetic.

Trabeculectomy

A Trabeculectomy is an operation performed to treat Glaucoma. The surgeon will create a small channel in the white of the eye to allow natural fluid to drain away. Some patients may require a medication around the channel to ensure that the hole does not scar over. Patients will normally have a local anaesthetic and the procedure is a daycase.
