My surgical training spanned the specialities of vascular, colorectal, breast, laparoscopic and paediatric surgery at a Senior Registrar level between Leicester Royal Infirmary and Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.
Owing to changing practices I currently hold an interest in all aspects of gastro-intestinal surgery, laparoscopy and paediatric surgery. With increasing scrutiny of surgical services I have been nominated to the role of lead clinician for organising colorectal cancer services at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital. This involves leading a multi disciplinary team delivering a uniformly high quality of care. I have a special interest in day case treatment of herniae.
I am the surgical tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, responsible for setting up education programmes for the junior doctors.
