My specialities are hip and knee replacement in patients of all ages. I have been instrumental in improving the lives of patients who have developed arthritis following injuries, accidents, radiotherapy and avascular necrosis. My experience in knee surgery stems from training in all aspects of knee replacement, including total knee replacement and partial knee replacement. I also carry out ligament reconstruction surgery by arthroscopy (keyhole surgery).

I adopt a conservative approach to orthopaedic issues and prefer to carry out surgery as a last resort. I administer injections and practice manipulation techniques for those who are not fit for surgery, to relieve their pain and suffering.

As chief hip & knee surgeon, I have developed an interest and expertise in revision hip & knee replacements which have failed due to infection, metal on metal articulations, and fractures around the joint replacements (periprosthetic fracture management). I deal with knee injuries and have a special interest in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction which includes revision surgery, meniscal damage, and patella (knee cap) instability.

I completed my trauma and orthopaedic training in the North West of England, mainly in Liverpool and Manchester. I have carried out fellowships in hip surgery in Melbourne and also in Sheffield Children’s Hospital. I am a fully accredited Orthopaedic Surgeon and am Head of Department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, bringing vast experience in the outcome measures of a patient where the patient’s satisfactory outcome and wellbeing is monitored.
