Dr Verma is a senior paediatrician with 28 years of experience. He has gained the highest postgraduate qualifications in paediatrics in both India and the UK. He has also worked as a consultant in both countries.
Dr Verma has been working as a consultant paediatrician at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation trust for over 11 years and has been seeing private patients at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital for over 8 years. He has served as Regional Adviser of Paediatrics (North West) between 2007 to 2013. He is a senior examiner of paediatrics for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and acts as a postgraduate examiner both in the UK and various international locations. He is vice-chair of the foundation of practice in paediatrics at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and contributes in question writing, editing and proof reading before giving final sign off for paediatric postgraduate examinations in UK. He is also a GMC associate. Dr Verma is keen on patient safety, the use of evidence based medicine and is involved in network research as a principal investigator. He is comfortable in the diagnosis and management of all problems within the paediatric age group.
Dr Verma was awarded the National Bronze Clinical Excellence Award in 2013 by the Department of Health. This award is given to consultants who work above and beyond their contractual hours and show high quality work and continuous improvement on leading, delivering and developing sevices in their speciality.
