Dr Paul Cahalin has a broad experience in all aspects of haematology, including both malignant and non-malignant haematology. He has extensive experience in the interpretation of abnormal blood count results, as well as the treatment of clotting disorders, including any problems that may arise before planned surgery.
Dr Cahalin's particular interests include the treatment of acute leukaemias, myelodysplasia and chronic myeloid leukaemia. He is the Acute Leukaemia Lead Clinician for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Network, covering a population of 1.6 million people. He is based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, which is the regional centre for the treatment of this disorder, as well as the treatment of other serious blood diseases requiring complex therapy.
