Spire Fylde Coast Hospital Awarded North West Bariatric Contract

December 2009

Spire Fylde Coast Hospital has been awarded the NHS contract for bariatric (obesity) surgery by the North West specialist care team.  The contract will commence on 1 April 2009 and will provide high quality bariatric care and support to patients from the following PCTs:-

  • North Lancashire
  • Central Lancashire
  • Blackpool
  • North Cumbria
  • South Cumbria
  • Blackburn and Darwen

Funding the surgery will be considered by the PCT once the patient has completed a local weight management programme.  For information regarding eligibility for patients and funding please contact your local PCT or Gail Middlebrook at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital on 01253 308044.
