Mr Jonathan Heath qualified from the University of Liverpool Medical School in 1990. Mr Heath undertook the bulk of his post graduate surgical training in the North West region. He spent a year in Blackpool in 1998, researching the effect of patient information upon surgical outcome. Mr Heath’s training in all aspects of colorectal surgery was completed at The Manchester Royal Infirmary and Christie Hospitals. Mr Heath came to Blackpool at the end of his training scheme in 2001. He was appointed a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Blackpool Victoria Hospital in 2002. Mr Heath’s clinical practice includes all aspects of colorectal surgery, ranging from the treatment of colon and rectal cancer to the treatment of incontinence and disordered defaecation. Mr Heath carries out colonoscopy and gastroscopy examinations. He also has a special interest in the laparoscopic (keyhole) treatment of incisional hernia.
