Bambos obtained his medical degree from the University of Manchester Medical School. He then did all his surgical and orthopaedic training in Manchester and the North West of England. He completed Shoulder and Upper limb fellowships at Wrightington and Stepping Hill hospitals as well as a Knee fellowship at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. He was awarded travelling fellowships by the British Elbow and Shoulder Society and the British Orthopaedic Foundation with which he visited centres of excellence in the USA (Mayo Clinic, Harvard Shoulder Unit, New England Baptist Hospital Boston). He has a keen interest in research and teaching and has published multiple peer reviewed research articles in national and international orthopaedic journals.
