Mr Bale obtained his medical degree from St Andrews University in Scotland and Manchester Medical School. His post-graduate training was in the north west region, initially as registrar and subsequently as University lecturer in orthopaedic surgery. He was a Sir Harry Platt Research Fellow. Took up consultant appointment in Preston in 1996 and introduced arthroscopic shoulder surgery to Preston. Current practice encompasses all aspects of shoulder surgery. Widely travelled to share shoulder surgery experience in Europe and the US. Regular panel member for international arthroscopic shoulder courses. Active in research and post-graduate orthopaedic training.  Currently Programme Director for training in Trauma and Orthopeadics North West Deanery.  Intercollegiate Examiner for FRCS (Orth).
Personal profile:
Keen sportsman, golf, enjoys football - Manchester United season ticket holder. Mr Bale lives in Lancaster and his family life revolves around his three children.
