Dr Shorrock qualified from Manchester University in 1980 after preclinical training at St Andrews University. He trained in Manchester Teaching Hospitals up to and including registrar level. He completed a two year period in research with Prof Sir Leslie Turberg at Hope Hospital culminating in an MD with a thesis on Gastroduodenal Mucosal Defence. Dr Shorrock then moved to Birmingham as a Lecturer in Medicine and Honorary Senior Registrar in 1988 spending five years working in the Birmingham Hepatology and Liver Transplant and Professional Medical Units. He was then appointed Consultant Physician with an interest in Gastroenterologyto Blackpool Hospitals in 1993.
Dr Shorrock is an experienced Gastroenterologist, who has been practicing at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital since 1993. He has extensive experience in all aspects of endoscopy, particularly therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP which he has performed since 1984.
