Background Information 
Professional profile:
After extensive national and international training in general internal medicine at various teaching and district hospitals (including Newcastle upon Tyne hospitals), I became a consultant physician at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.  After gaining the MRCP (UK), I undertook structural clinical training in general internal medicine, diabetes and endocrinology with special emphasis in diabetes and thyroid disorder. Having enjoyed working in diabetes so much, I undertook substantial clinical and scientific research experience into diabetes and insulin therapy at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

My practice encompasses all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology. I have particular interest in thyroid and adrenal disorders. Other current clinical interests include management of hypertension and hyperlipidaemia and assessment and management of other risk factors.

As a member of the various clinical societies for diabetes and endocrinology, I am kept fully informed of the latest developments in clinical practice.

I am happy to see patients by appointment with general medical, diabetic, endocrine or metabolic problems.
Personal profile:
I am married and have three children. I am a keen footballer and also enjoy gardening and fishing.
