Dr Paracha graduated in 1987 and obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians of UK in 1992. After gaining broad experience in all aspects of general medicine, he started a specialist training programme in Respiratory Medicine in 1997. Over the next five years Dr Paracha trained in all aspect of respiratory medicine in Mersey Region. He had the opportunity to work with Professor Peter Calverley, an authority on COPD, Professor Mike Pearson, Director of Clinical Effectiveness and Evaluation RCP and Professor Peter Davies who has done extensive work on tuberculosis.
Since 2002 Dr Paracha has been working as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine in Blackpool Victoria Hospital. He has expertise to manage all aspects of respiratory problems, including chronic cough, interstitial lung disease and COPD. His interest is in all aspects of sleep related disorders and sleep studies including obstructive sleep apnoea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, excessive daytime sleepiness and parasominas. Dr Paracha is Director of Blackpool Sleep Service and member of American Academy of Sleep Medicine and British Sleep Society.
Dr Paracha is married with two teenage daughters and likes to spend most of his spare time with his family. He enjoys walking and visiting historical places. He has a varied interest in reading which includes history, science and economics.
