I qualified from Manchester Medical School in 1992, and gained my doctorate in Medicine (MD) in 2005 for research in breast cancer and metastasis. I was a Surgical Registrar in the Yorkshire deanery working in Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford, Hull and Leeds. I spent a year as an Onco-plastic Fellow in Manchester to learn breast reconstruction surgery and aesthetics. I have been working as a consultant since 2006 and have been a Speciality lead, MDT lead, Clinical and Divisional Director at the trust. I am a National Onco-plastic trainer for the Association of Breast surgeons having pioneered the technique of Acellular dermal matrix and implant reconstruction, first performed in Europe by myself in 2008.
For ten years I have provide one stop breast services with Dr Ann Marie Wason consultant radiologist and work as part of multidisciplinary team with Prof Jonathan Joffe and Mehmet Sen.
