Mr Anwar is an experienced General Surgeon who specializes in colorectal and laparoscopic surgery. He is a Consultant General Surgeon with the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
He had his Basic and Higher Surgical Training in Manchester and was awarded a higher degree in colorectal genetics by the Keele University, Staffordshire. He was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist (CCST) in 2005. He has specialist training in inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal failure and pelvic floor disorders.
Mr Anwar has a specialist interest in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. He performs laparoscopic procedures for both benign and malignant colorectal conditions. He performs stapled haemorrhoidectomies as day case procedures, which is a minimally invasive method of performing haemorrhoid surgery and causes far less pain and rapid recovery as compared to conventional haemorrhoidectomy.
