Mr Parish is nationally renowned for his expertise. He specialised in the field of biomechanics (the science of walking and posture) from the very beginning of his career at Stockport Health Authority where he was promoted to the most senior clinical position just one year after qualifying in 1987.

During his time at Stockport, Mr Parish was instrumental in the development of the biomechanics service by training staff and developing skills of colleagues within the department.

Mr Parish’s pioneering approach is based on over 23 years of specialist experience both in the NHS and Private Practice. He is constantly updating his methods of treatment. Only one year after qualifying in 1986, he pioneered the children’s biomechanics service in his NHS District which he ran for three years. During this time he successfully negotiated a joint foot clinic with a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital – the first of its kind.

Mr Parish trained other Podiatrists throughout the NHS District so the children’s biomechanics service could continue to expand to provide clinics throughout the area and when Mr Parish left the NHS in 1992 there were twenty clinics successfully providing treatment for the under sixteen’s.

In 1992 he left the Health Service to develop his rapidly expanding private practice. Due to his reputation, Mr Parish receives many referrals from both Orthopaedic and Podiatric Surgeons, Doctors, other Podiatrists, Physiotherapists and Chiropodists throughout the country. He is often called upon to run training seminars for Doctors, Podiatrists, Physiotherapists and Chiropodists and is frequently asked for advice and second opinions by both colleagues and patients themselves. He has been invited to lecture in both the USA and Europe, has published articles and is now a member of BackCare (the National Association for Healthy Backs).

Mr Parish has also been privileged to treat players from Wigan Football Club, Manchester United Development Team, Wigan Rugby Club, Leigh Centurions Rugby Club, Sale Sharks Rugby Club, Sussex County Cricket Club and Bowdon Cricket, Squash & Hockey Club.

Mr Parish is also one of the founder members of The Podiatric Biomechanics Group in the UK. The group negotiated and devised a Masters Degree in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics and Mr Parish was one of the first twenty people in the country to be accepted.
