Professional profile:
I obtained my MB BS (Bachelor of Medicine) in Pakistan (Karachi) in a busy teaching hospital and have seen and managed the most difficult cases in Obs. and Gynae.
I qualified in 1973, I had one year in a house job in Karachi and then came to UK in Feb. 1975.
I then had the opportunity to work in the best teaching environment in a district general hospital in London. I am very proud to have been given the opportunity to work with highly respected mentors within this hospital.
I did my MRCOG II in Jan 1980. I then did two registrars jobs in UK in a London Hospital.
After completing my training I went back to Pakistan to join a teaching hospital. Here I was given the opportunity to become more involved in teaching students, registrars, senior house officers etc. I came back to UK in 1991 as a clinical research fellow at St Mary's, London for my main interests colposcopy and oncology. Here I had an active role in colposcopy and treatment of CIN. I wrote two papers, one on outpatient management of CIN, the second on ovarian function after wertheims hysterectomy.
I stayed in London for two years and then moved to Middlesex Hospital as a consultant in Obs. and Gynae. for four years. Here I furthered my experience in colposcopy and CIN management. I also became interested in menopause and menorrhagia and have maintained this ever since.
I have a very wide experience in Obs.and Gynae. and now concentrate more on my special interests colposcopy, menopause and menorrhagia, teaching and training. I also enjoy mentoring and am a trained mentor for overseas doctors. I always make sure my clinical work is methodical and up to the national standards and is well documented.
Currently I see my private patients as Longlands consulting rooms, situated near to Dewsbury District Hospital.
Personal profile:
I enjoy listening to old and new Asian music and I love cooking different types of food,
I get at great deal of pleasure from travelling with my husband and three sons all over the world.
