    I qualified at University College Hospital, London in 1992, where I also gained a BSc in Physiology. I then moved to Leeds where I completed my basic and specialist training in general (internal) medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology.

    I received my membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1996 and was awarded my MD by the University of Leeds after investigating the genetics of insulin resistance and thrombosis.

    I took up my post as Consultant Physician in General Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology at Dewsbury and District Hospital in August 2002.
    Personal profile:
    I am married with two children; my main non-medical interests include sport of all varieties especially tennis, squash and badminton. I also travel as extensively as possible with my family.
