Annie commented that a lot of her anxieties were reduced by her consultant, Mr Paul Gaston’s down to earth but kind professional approach both times she came for her initial assessments at Spire Murrayfield Hospital (she has had both hips replaced within 18 months).
Annie said once in hospital Mr Gaston and her anaesthetist gave first class treatment and she found the operations much less frightening than expected and the post op recovery in hospital much faster. Annie said the nursing care and physio help were good and her room each time very comfortable and it was wonderful to have visitors at times to suit.
Read Annie's feedback below:
"As an environmental consultant feedback on projects after they are finished can be quite random so I thought you might like to have some feedback!
"My second hip is super and the picture walking in the Easter Pyrenees barely 4 months after the op shows it works well. We walked each day and sometimes quite high and I was stopped more by a fear of heights than my hips.
"Since then I have walked in the hills here, done fieldwork on bogs in Shetland where there are no paths, climbed gates etc etc and I can garden if I kneel and ceilidh and bop with care! The relief of being pain free and being able to sleep is immense. I thought you might like to know as well as any potential patient visiting you in fear.
"Thank you for your skill, your kindness and your fine work. I look forward to seeing you at my check in May."
