Permanent Cosmetics (Micropigmentation)

Permanent cosmetics, also known as micropigmentation, is available at Spire Murrayfield Hospital.

Micropigmentation is a form of tattooing, which can help achieve a number of different cosmetic and restorative effects. It allows people of all ages, to enhance and define their natural features, creating a beautiful finish which will complement or even replace the use of conventional make-up.

Permanent Facial Cosmetics - These procedures are a form of cosmetic tattooing which uses pharmaceutical grade pigments applied to the second, or dermal, layer of tissue, ensuring a wonderful shadow of colour which perfectly replicates make-up for the brows, lash line or lips. Unlike conventional make-up however, top up treatments are only required every 12-18 months to keep your make-up looking freshly applied.

Permanent Paramedical Cosmetics - Paramedical tattooing allows us to use specialist tattooing techniques to recreate or pigment the areolar complex for women who have undergone breast surgery. Additionally, they may be used to camouflage or pigment scar tissue or tissue affected by Vitiligo and Alopecia.

"I successfully completed Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology 2007 through Stonebridge Associated Colleges, went on to study and qualify in Micropigmentation (Facial Procedures) in 2007 at the Nouveau Contour Training Academy in Yorkshire. I then returned to qualify in Paramedical procedures (Advanced Areola Reconstruction and MCA Scar reduction and pigmentation). In April 2008, I started my clinic within Beechwood House where I consult on a weekly basis, working closely with the plastic and breast consultant surgeons.

"Micropigmentation is a form of cosmetic tattooing which is divided into two areas, Facial procedures and Paramedical Procedures.

"Facial work consists of treatment to replace or enhance eyebrows which have been over plucked or lost through the ageing process, illness or medication. I also provide eyeliner and lip enhancement procedures.  These treatments are also known as Permanent Cosmetics, Semi Permanent Make Up or Cosmetic Tattooing.

"Paramedical treatments consist of procedures such as areola complex reconstruction, MCA scar reduction and dermal pigmentation for conditions such as Vitiligo and Alopecia, often referred to as medical tattooing."
