Miss Myles graduated from Edinburgh Medical School and did her surgical training in Edinburgh, London, Southampton and Toronto.
She worked for two years as a research fellow at Edinburgh University and obtained her doctorate in 1990 with a research thesis entitled: Studies on a New Method of Peripheral Nerve Repair and Regeneration.
Miss Myles has worked as a consultant neurosurgeon in Edinburgh from 1999. She has a broad neurosurgical practice with subspecialty interests in paediatric neurosurgery, spinal neurosurgery and peripheral nerve surgery. Within her practice she has become expert in the management of tumours, hydrocephalus and congenital abnormalities of the brain and spine as well as the more common conditions such as disc prolapse, degenerative spinal conditions and peripheral nerve compression syndromes.
