Spire Dunedin Hospital houses the private Hernia and Gall Bladder Centre which focuses on treating hernia and gall bladder disease. Surgery is carried out by a group of highly trained specialists and uses a variety of modern techniques including minimally invasive “keyhole” (laparoscopic) surgery.

All our surgeons hold NHS consultant surgeon posts at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and perform high numbers of these procedures in their NHS practices.
Patients who would like an open hernia repair can be booked straight in for surgery via their GP, saving the time and cost of an initial consultation.
Members of the team also offer keyhole (laparoscopic) hernia repairs, which may significantly reduce the amount of time spent in hospital and help promote a quicker recovery period. An initial consultation is required prior to keyhole surgery, to check suitability.
