·        Sub 2mm microincision cataract surgery - clear and blue light  filter implants available, using topical (needle free) anaesthesia or anaesthetic of patient’s choice.

·        Refractive cataract surgery offering corneal incision surgery and replacement toric lens implants to relieve astigmatism.

·        Laser treatment for lens capsule thickening following cataract surgery (YAG laser  capsulotomy).

 

Lucentis VEGF blocker: treatment for macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, diabetic retinal problems. New painless injection technique now available ( ask for Invitria)

 

Ozurdex: For vein occlusion and other conditions with macular oedema.

 

Private diabetic eye screening provided

 

Retinal laser treatment: for retinal tears, diabetic eye disease, vein occlusion.

 

AMD  (wet and dry age related macula degeneration) Treatmen:,   monitoring, support and advice.

Professional profile:

Sarah-Lucie Watson trained at King’s College Hospital in London.  She has specialised in Ophthalmic surgery since 1990, working as a Registrar and Fellow in the Medical Retina Department at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.  She was then appointed in Berkshire as a full-time surgeon in 2003. 

She has been Clinical Director for the Regional Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (2003-2010) and now leads the Fast Track Service providing for treatment of Macular Degeneration in Reading. 

She was nominated for a National Award for clinical excellence in 2011.             

Miss Watson is the Royal College of Ophthalmologists tutor and educational supervisor responsible for the training of ophthalmologists in Berkshire.
