Professional profile:
Dr McKenna was appointed as a consultant cardiologist at the Royal Berkshire and Battle NHS Trust in May 2002. His clinical cardiology training took place in the City Hospital, Belfast, the Mater Hospital, Dublin, the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh and more recently the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He completed his MD thesis on dilated cardiomyopathy during this time and also spent 18 months at the Mayo Clinic, USA as an interventional research fellow.

He is published widely in the fields of percutaneous coronary intervention, acute coronary syndromes and dilated cardiomyopathy. He is experienced in all aspects of adult cardiology with sub special interests including intervention and heart failure.
