Dr Aminda De Silva studied medicine at the Imperial College School of Medicine, London where he won several prizes. He completed gastroenterology training at Southampton University Hospital as a specialist registrar before conducting 3 years research in clinical nutrition and inflammatory bowel disease at the University of Southampton.
Dr De Silva was appointed to the Royal Berkshire Hospital as a consultant Gastroenterologist in June 2009. He is married to a local GP and has 2 young children.
