“Quite unexpectedly, I enjoyed my visits to Nick Gallogly. Not only is he very personable, but I found his knowledge of the mechanics of how a foot and leg actually work quite fascinating. Nick explained in simple terms, with pictures, what was going on and what should have been going on. He then used some very clever-looking computerised equipment to map my feet. The up-shot is a pair of custom-made and very discreet in-soles that correct some of my previous walking problems. What I had originally thought was a fast growing bunion has now all but disappeared without the need for surgery and walking is again the pleasure it used to be. "We were first referred to Mr Gallogly over 2 years ago. Initially, he treated both my son and daughter for flat feet.

However during the course of this treatment my teenage son was then diagnosed with a leg length difference of 2.5cm.Following surgery to help correct this, with a view to both legs reaching equal length over time, we now see Mr Gallogly on a regular basis as he is instrumental in managing the gradual reduction in leg length difference.

Throughout all our dealings with Mr Gallogly, we have always found him to be extremely professional, efficient and helpful, and very  understanding of how potentially difficult this situation can be for an active teenage boy. "I’m a 34 year old man who plays semi-professional football. I was referred to Mr Gallogly 18 months ago through my Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Arvind, who diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot. I had been in agony where even walking was extremely painful.

Over months I tried every day, anytime I could every plantar fasciitis stretch possible. I also went for ultrasound 3 times a week to a Physiotherapist and even tried Eastern and Western Acupuncture  as well as generic orthotic insoles from Pharmacies but without any success. Mr Arvind`s intervention with steroid injection proved temporary fix for a few days. Surgery being the last resort. Mr Arvind then suggested I see Mr Gallogly who was highly regarded amongst his peers. Mr Gallogly empathetic approach helped him to understand my frustrations with my Plantar Fasciitis.

Following detailed examination of my feet, posture etc explained why this lead to Plantar Fasciitis. I had very flat feet and always had ankle/ knee problems which had lead to menisci operations in the past. He then felt it necessary that I have individually designed orthotic in-soles and suggested using a Night Splint too. I was given insoles for work i.e. day to day wear and a pair for football. A few days after wearing them I felt comfort that I never thought I would feel. After 2 weeks I was able to play football again.

I wear the insoles religiously now and the night splint I only have to wear occasionally. I had never, until my visit to Mr Gallogly, appreciated the importance of our feet in aligning our whole body and what implications that could result if not correctly supported. Every day when I wear the insoles I am thankful to Mr Gallogly for his advice and intervention as this have given me my passion in life back. My football.
I write this to show you the value of visiting Mr Gallogly, not only did he gave me the tools to walk without pain but helped to give me back my football which I never thought I’d ever get back to. Thank You doesn’t really seem enough!!!"
