Professional Profile: Nick qualified as a Medical Mechanical Engineer from Dublin in 2004, which focused on the medical application of biomechanics. He then qualified from Salford University with honours in Prosthetics and Orthotics, which involved rotations at Nottingham City Hospital and the Robert Jones and Angus Hunt Hospital. He is currently undertaking an MSc in Clinical Biomechanics from the University of Staffordshire which he hopes to complete in 2012. Nick is HPC registered and also sits on the professional affairs committee for BAPO.
Nick uses advanced gait analysis technology in the management of his patients. He works very closely with the Orthopaedic and Rheumatology Consultants and has developed close ties with local GPs. He also works with Reading Football club, liaising with the team of physiotherapists in the footballer’s management and orthotic intervention when required. Nick works very closely with the team of physiotherapists at Spire Dunedin Hospital, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to patient management. |
