Dr Jon Swinburn's medical training was at Cambridge University and Charing Cross Medical School. His subsequent clinical training was undertaken in London, much of it at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, and his research focused on echocardiography and angina.
Dr Swinburn has published widely in these areas and was awarded an MD for this work. He has also participated in local and international trails in the fields of heart attacks and heart failure.
He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2006 and has developed the echocardiography service and set up the implantable defibrillator service.
Dr Swinburn is experienced in all aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions and aims to offer a rapid and efficient service and to give patients a thorough understanding of their condition.
