Dr Sachdev is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading. He is experienced in all aspects of general cardiology with sub-specialisation in interventional cardiology.
He has been trained in dedicated interventional cardiology programmes at Imperial College Hospitals NHS Trust, London where he was the Senior Interventional Fellow at both St Mary's Hospital, Paddington and The Hammersmith Hospital, London. He also undertook an interventional fellowship at the Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, France under the supervision of the internationally renowned expert, Dr Jean Fajadet. He is skilled in simple and complex angioplasty and stenting through both the radial and femoral routes. He routinely uses IVUS and FFR to direct management and optimise outcomes. Additionally, he has expertise in the use of rotablation for difficult to open, calcific arteries. He performs ASD and PFO closures at The Hammersmith Hospital, London. He is accredited in the use of multi-slice CT angiography in the assessment of chest pain.
Dr Sachdev manages difficult to control hypertension and undertakes renal denervation for resistant hypertensives. He is the Lead Cardiologist in the Renal Denervation Programme commenced at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
He was awarded the prestigious Shillingford Fellowship from the British Heart Foundation for his research in inherited heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy) at St Georges Hospital Cardiovascular Unit, London. He is widely published in this area and has presented at major international scientific meetings. He has a keen interest in education both developing and editing a contemporary series on cardiovascular intervention in a peer-reviewed journal.
