Spire Healthcare shortlisted at a range of National Healthcare Awards
Spire Healthcare is celebrating having been recognised by various national awards including the Laing & Buisson Independent Healthcare Awards, The Health Investor Awards and The Lawyer Awards. The winners will be announced later in the year.
Laing & Buisson Independent Healthcare Awards
Spire is proud to have been shortlisted in five categories at the prestigious Laing & Buisson Independent Healthcare Awards in the following categories: Excellence in Training, Healthcare Outcomes, Medical Practice, Management Excellence and for Spire Southampton Hospital’s Public Private Partnership.
The nomination for Excellence in Training is for Spire’s Critical Care Workstream, which involves the co-ordination of Spire’s critical care training programmes. The programmes have been designed to improve our capability to care for patients with complex needs and have seen strong performance results since its implementation.
The Healthcare Outcomes nomination is for Jan Clement and the national clinical services team for their clinical leadership and effective governance framework which aims to ensure that we are constantly aware of how our systems and processes affect clinical outcomes. This involves re-designing processes in order to remove unnecessary complexity, thoroughly analysing events to constantly improve our delivery, and listening to the insights of those who know best: our patients, consultants and staff.
The Medical Practice nomination recognises Mr Anthony Perera, Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Spire Cardiff Hospital. Mr Perera has been identified for his contribution to the pioneering work in developing minimally invasive bunion surgery.
Nicola Hall from Spire Southampton Hospital has been nominated in the Management Excellence category for her role as the Tier 3 Weight Management Service Lead at the hospital.
Spire Southampton Hospital’s other nomination is for its Public Private Partnership, having formed partnerships with Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole; and Wiltshire PCTs to provide a direct service for the provision of cardiac surgical services for their NHS patients. With waiting times increasing in the NHS for both elective and non-elective cardiac surgery, this partnership has allowed these PCTs to offer patients choice and take advantage of the high quality and cost effective service that Spire Southampton provides.
The Health Investor Awards
Spire Healthcare has also been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Health Investor Awards.
The first nomination is for Private Hospital Group of the year, and the other recognises Hospital Director at The Montefiore Hospital in Brighton, Andy Wood in the ‘Outstanding contribution by an individual’ category.
The Lawyer Awards 2013
Spire Healthcare’s legal team are also in the running for an award at The Lawyer Awards for In-house Commerce and Industry Team of the Year.
