Mr Andrew Davies is a consultant surgeon specialising in general, laparoscopic and upper gastro-intestinal surgery for patients in Hampshire and Surrey.
He regularly performs surgery for abdominal hernias, gallstones and acid reflux (hiatus hernia repair) as well as endoscopy and oesophago-gastric cancer.
Mr Davies was trained in some of the leading teaching hospitals in London, including King’s College liver unit, the Royal Marsden and St Thomas’ hospitals. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and was awarded two prestigious laparoscopic surgery fellowships to Pittsburgh, USA and Pretoria, SA.
Mr Davies has initiated a number of international research collaborations that include participating units from the UK and USA. This prompted an invitation to be the first UK institution to be invited to contribute data to the international staging system for oesophageal cancer. Mr Davies has published widely in the field of upper GI surgery, have been an invited speaker at international conferences and regularly reviews articles for leading scientific journals.
