Dr John Seymour graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Oxford in 2001, and also gained a First Class Honours Degree in Physiological Sciences. He spent periods of elective study in Toronto, Durban and Sydney. Dr Seymour completed his general postgraduate training at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2004.
Dr Seymour was appointed to the London specialist respiratory training programme in 2004, spending the majority of subsequent years at the Royal Brompton Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and St George’s Hospital. Dr Seymour was a British Lung Foundation Clinical Research Fellow at King’s College London from 2005 to 2008, and his work led to several publications in leading medical journals. He was awarded a PhD from the University of London in 2011. He has delivered symposia and regularly presented at the international meetings of the European Respiratory and American Thoracic Societies.
Dr Seymour was entered on the General Medical Council Specialist Register in 2011, and holds a full time Consultant contract at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Seymour runs a weekly clinic and bronchoscopy list.
