Cathy began working at Spire Clare Park Hospital, Farnham, in 2001. She spends half of her time on the wards dealing with mainly orthopaedic patients but she also has input with the gynaecological and breast surgery patients. The remainder of her time is spent treating outpatients.
Since working at Clare Park, Cathy has developed a special interest in the treatment of shoulders. She has attended a number of shoulder courses as well as attending symposiums and lectures regarding clinically effective treatments. Cathy has also formed a link with the Reading special interest shoulder group. The majority of shoulder patients seen are post surgery with treatment emphasising returning the individual to their full function and specific sport.
Cathy is keen to develop the service offered to patients who have had breast surgery and has attended a 'Late complaints after Mastectomy' course. From this she has been able to produce a patient information sheet for patients immediately post surgery.
