Andrew McCombe became a Consultant ENT Surgeon to Frimley Park Hospital in 1995. As a specialist in Head and Neck Surgery, he has been very active in developing extended services to support patients with head and neck problems, including setting up a ‘Lump and Bump’ clinic, appointing a Specialist Head and Neck Nurse and launching a laryngectomy self help group.
Mr McCombe is also very interested in the wider field of ear, nose and throat conditions, including general ear and hearing problems, tinnitus and dizziness, nasal obstructions, rhinitis and sinusitis, salivary gland conditions, thyroid and parathyroid diseases and any concerns with the skin on the head and neck (such as suspected cancers).
He also has a keen interest in medico-legal practices, and supporting the negligence and/or personal injury claims of patients suffering from hearing loss and tinnitus
As well as writing extensively on the broader subject of ENT, Mr McCombe was Editor of ENT News (a specialist journal) from 1997 to 2002. He is currently the assistant honorary secretary for ENT-UK (the national speciality association for ENT surgeons throughout the UK) and becomes the honorary secretary in February 2011.
