Dr Langlands graduated from Cambridge and went to the London Medical School. She carried out research in nutrition at Addenbrookes. Dr Langlands carrid out her highter training in North West Thames and spent two years at St Martins Hospital specialising in colorectal and nutrition.
Dr Langlands is married with two children and lives locally.
