Professional profile:
Ron Knight qualified with first class Honour's Degree at Cambridge University. He was a Scholar of his College and won both the Mitchell and Tancred Scholarships from his College. At St Bartholomew's Medical College he won the Medical Prize for the final year. He has been working at Frimley Park and has an extensive experience of acute general medicine and respiratory disease. As Chairman of the Knight Foundation of Cystic Fibrosis he has raised funds to build the Knight Centre at Frimley Park Hospital. Dr Knight lectures at Surrey University in Guildford, and both nationally and internationally. He provides a service for desensitising people who have troublesome hay fever and both bee and wasp venom anaphylaxis. His particular interests in respiratory medicine are cystic fibrosis, asthma, bronchiectasis, lung cancer, interstitial ling disease, sleep apnoea and tuberculosis.
